lugubriousness

My most favorite word in the English language is Lugubrious.

lu·gu·bri·ous Pronunciation[loo-goo-bree-uhs, -gyoo-]
–adjective
mournful, dismal, or gloomy, esp. in an affected, exaggerated, excessively mournful, or unrelieved manner: lugubrious songs of lost love.

I love how it rolls off the tongue. It also describes the most strange feeling and sense of gloom, sadness, and emptiness. Over-dramatic? Yes. I know...but I guess I'm always a little over the top. I love it because it's the most erie feeling. It's not just an emotion of feeling sad or empty; it sets a tone. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words everyone. It brings a smile to my face each time I read my blog's comments and find that I have some very caring readers with words of support.

Don't worry. Pooh and I didn't break up or anything extreme. Like all relationships, we have our ups and downs. Although, lately, things have been mostly down. I am sure things will eventually get better but I can't help but feel sad right now.

I'll expaciate further when I feel more comfortable and feel that I can clearly express my thoughts. But for now, don't worry...I'll be ok :)

Honey, I suggest you and him take time out to think...just you and him. No other friends. No booze. Reconnect and rediscover why you fell in love with each other in the first place. Good Luck. Ciao!

I don't think Pooh is happy. When I look at his photos I think I see that something that was there is now gone. I don't know what that is, but maybe what you're going through is related to that. I wish you both the best.

Tig,

Have you thought about couple counseling? Sometimes it helps to get an outsider's perspective on the situation.

I did a search for your area and came up with this link.
http://www.thecentersd.org/counseling_individuals_couples_family.php

I know here in Vegas the cost through such a program is reasonable, if I remember right, about $20.00 a visit.

Can't hurt to call and find out.. and even if for some reason Pooh wouldn't want to go, maybe it might be good for you to talk to someone.

Best of luck to you both! Thoughts and prayers are with you.
