lugubriousness

My most favorite word in the English language is Lugubrious.

lu·gu·bri·ous Pronunciation[loo-goo-bree-uhs, -gyoo-]
–adjective
mournful, dismal, or gloomy, esp. in an affected, exaggerated, excessively mournful, or unrelieved manner: lugubrious songs of lost love.

I love how it rolls off the tongue. It also describes the most strange feeling and sense of gloom, sadness, and emptiness. Over-dramatic? Yes. I know...but I guess I'm always a little over the top. I love it because it's the most erie feeling. It's not just an emotion of feeling sad or empty; it sets a tone. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words everyone. It brings a smile to my face each time I read my blog's comments and find that I have some very caring readers with words of support.

Don't worry. Pooh and I didn't break up or anything extreme. Like all relationships, we have our ups and downs. Although, lately, things have been mostly down. I am sure things will eventually get better but I can't help but feel sad right now.

I'll expaciate further when I feel more comfortable and feel that I can clearly express my thoughts. But for now, don't worry...I'll be ok :)

Tribal's Bday Bash!

This past Wednesday (the 21st) was our best friend Tribal's birthday. We went out Tuesday night so we can wish him happy birthday when it struck midnight. We went to Star Bar in downtown for Velma's famous Mojo! That stuff rocks! There's like 10+ different alcohols in it. It's definitely worth trying if you're ever in downtown San Diego. We then headed to Mo's for 3 buck big buds. We all had a blast! :)

We'll also be having a big bash at his place tomorrow night.

Missing RO...

I'm not quite sure why but I visited Ragnarok Online's website today. I used to play it ALL THE TIME. It was the very first MMORPG that I was addicted to. I was seriously addicted. I remember staying up until 4-5am just sitting there healing mummies in the Pyramid. I had a little group of friends that I'd play with every night. I went from novice to acolyte to priest with them. I truly miss playing with them. I have a lvl 70something priest named Tiggah on the LOKI server...I think it's the LOKI server. It's been a while. Perhaps I'll reinstall it on my comp and check out what's new. I am hoping my characters still exist.

I used to play since alpha so I've been a long time fan. Most of my friends left RO when Final Fantasy XI came out. I played both...but I also played City of Heroes, Guild Wars, and World of Warcraft. Yes, I am a nerd. Whatever. :) I've always played the "healer". For some reason I found watching health bars going up and down enjoyable. Nowadays, I don't have much time to devote to MMORPGs. I don't even get to play my Wii or PS3 much either. I think it's probably all of the going out drinking and then having to work all day.

Have any of you played RO? What MMORPGs do you play and what's your character name?

Anyway, I many of you have been wondering why I haven't been as actively posting as I used to. Well there are several reasons.

1.) I work a lot. Too much.
2.) Recently there have been a lot of birthdays...and everyone seems to want to go out every night during the week of their birthday. BTW it was Tribal's bday recently...I'll be posting some pics soon!
3.) I hate using my laptop now. It's depressing. I've dropped my laptop a while back and a big piece of the bottom part broke off. It's being held in place with tape...it's ugly and annoying. The part where you connect the AC adaptor to my laptop is also broken. I have to hold and position the AC plug in a spot perfectly so that it stays charging. Unfortunately it cannot be solved by simply buying a new AC adaptor...it's a piece missing on the female part of my laptop. If that makes any sense. My laptop functions fine it's just annoying to use. It makes me not want to do anything on my laptop. I get depressed just looking at it. ::sigh::  Maybe it's something telling me I need to dump this shit Vaio for a Mac.

Reason #3 is probably a big reason why I haven't been posting as much as I used to. I'm thinking of maybe buying a new laptop or desktop. Maybe...we'll see. Anyone want to buy me a belated birthday present? lol j/k. #1 is also another big reason.

I love my blog and love my readers...I'm sorry if I haven't been able to post much. I'll try to pump 'em out a little faster.

We were going to meet some friends at Bourbon but when we stepped inside we discovered that it was Lesbian Night! In we went...then out we went shortly after. :) We decided to get our groove on over at Rich's.

Pooh's Bday!

Yesterday (May 14th) was Pooh's Bday! We had dinner at Todai's then headed home for cake and shots. :) It was a nice intimate low-key celebration.

We had a big surprise party for him last Saturday. It was a huge birthday celebration! I couldn't believe how we could fit everyone at our place. It was awesome! Unfortunately, we were both pretty intoxicated so I wasn't able to take that many pictures.

Here are some pictures from last night though...

Best in Short Film : Summer

I stumbled upon this short today. I thought I'd post it because I really enjoyed it. The images and shots were very nicely done, and the music set a really nice tone. It seemed almost lugubrious.

I think most of us have been in similar situations and have felt the same way. I really liked the ending. It hit pretty close to home. Growing up with a very old fashioned filipino family, I don't think I'll ever be able to tell my parents about my sexuality. My sister and all my close friends know, but I don't wear my sexuality on my sleeve. If someone were to ask, then I'd tell them. :)

Mmmargartas

We've been having pretty random weather the past couple of days. We were looking forward to a sunny weekend so we could enjoy our days off at the beach but it was cloudy out. Yesterday Pooh and I decided to spend the day at home. We pretended it was sunny and made margaritas! It was a wonderful day of Grand Theft Auto IV, margaritas, chips, and salsa. :)
