Crash Bang Boom!

My sister and I went to visit our parents in Temecula on Sunday. I fell asleep along the way since I was pretty hung over. My sleep was violently disrupted when the sound of crashing metal and my sister's paniced voice woke me. As I was jolted forward, my eyes opened and the first thing I saw was what appeared to be shattered glass flying in the air from behind me. I as I slammed back into my seat, I had a quick glance at the stop light. I quickly realized that we were stopped at a red light and have just been rear ended. I was somewhat relieved when what had looked like glass hit the dashboard turned out to be tiny fragrance beads that my sister keeps in her car as an air freshner. My relief, unfortunately, was cut short and my anxiety quickly hit full force. With ultra fast ninja-like reflexes my sister grabbed her phone to call her boyfriend to have him drive from San Diego to Temecula. My heart was racing and my chest was pounding, yet part of me felt like I was still asleep.

I jumped out of my sister's truck to see who had hit us and if they were ok. A silver Honda was behind our car with it's entire front end smashed in. I saw the driver, a woman, frantically guesturing me to move our vehicle to the side of the road. After we moved our cars I approached her vehicle to ask her if she was ok. She was looking at me with with a weird look on her face and her cell phone held to her ear. She said she was ok and she asked me if we were ok. I couldn't help but notice a bottle of Grey Goose in the passenger seat.

A man pulled over to assist us. It turns out he was an off duty CHP officer. A few moments later an off duty EMT pulled over to help as well. The off duty officer made the woman exit her vehicle. It was clear she was extremely intoxicated when she stumbled around and rolled onto the floor. She was on her phone the whole time frantically trying to get her mother to get there. When she got off her phone she pulled down her pants and took a piss on the side of the road. That image, unfortunately, will be forever imprinted in my head. Uck.

Moments later, 3 motorcycle cops, 2 cop cars, a firetruck, a tow truck, and an ambulance arrives. They took the drunk driver in the ambulance and the officer that took our report went with her so he can arrest her as soon as she recovers.

My sister and I had no serious injuries that needed immediate attention, but accidents like these usually are followed by pain within the next couple days. This will be the second time that I was asleep and awaken by getting rear ended. The other time Pooh and I were stopped in traffic on the freeeway and got rear ended by some guy who was high off his ass. We were struck so hard that we were pushed into the car in front of us. It was extremely scary to wake up and be in that situation. I believe most of my high anxiety is because of this. My sister's bumper needed to be removed in order to be able to drive her truck. It's drivable but the entire backside is all banged up and the alignment is messed up as well.

After all the chaos, we headed to my parents house. My sister's boyfiend arrived shortly after. My parents greeted us with hugs and kisses. They were extremely worried about what had happened. My mom was sad and blamed herself, saying that if she hadn't of asked us to come we wouldn't of gotten into the accident. I comforted her and said that everything happens for a reason. This helps us realize how precious the time we spend here is and that we need to spend as much time with the ones we love as we can. This all definitely brought us closer together. Despite having been through a scary accident, celebrating the holiday with my family was truly special.

What a great start to our Xmas break. Random. Pooh and I are off until the 2nd. I hope you are all doing well. Have a great new year!

Last Minute Holiday Shopping & Familiar Faces

Pooh and I went to the mall today to do some last minute shopping for our "Secret Santa" gifts. We are having our Company Christmas Party tomorrow night and we're all exchanging gifts. Luckily, both of ours were easy to shop for. Thank goodness for Gift Cards. Some may think it's impersonal, but I think it's great to give someone the power to get something they'd actually like; especially when it's a co-worker that you don't quite know well enough to get a good gift that they'd love.

Of course, my eyes started wandering and I got distracted. We ended up spending way more on ourselves than what we were at the mall for. Oops. I picked up the Dolce & Gabbana cologne that was on my holiday wish list. Oops. I also got a bunch of stuff at the Gap just because they were on sale. Oops. But hey, Pooh got some stuff too! Oops!

We're not quite done with our holiday shopping yet. Pooh has taken all spending privileges away from me so we can make sure we get stuff for our family and friends. It's just so hard when everything is on sale!

On our way to grab some holiday cards, gift bags, and tissue paper at Ralph's, we ran into a fellow blogger! It was Victor from MOC Blog. I've only met him in person once and I'm very horrible at remembering faces, so I was quite embarrassed when he got our attention and I didn't quite remember who he was. He looked familiar, and yet I couldn't put my finger on it. The MOC blog is one of the very first blogs that I became a fan of so it was very nice to have run into him. I've always admired his writing style and found him to be very witty and eloquent. I remember when I first started blogging and he did a post on my blog. It was kind of like being in Janet Jackson's fanclub and Janet Jackson personally sending you a message or something.

After Ralph's we headed to Blockbuster's to return Tomb Raider: Underworld in exchange for Prince of Persia. Yup, this Friday night is a Blockbuster night! How exciting! Unfortunately, the excitement had to come to a quick halt since Pooh took Nyquil and is now passed out beside me as I type this post. Ah well, there's always tomorrow after our company party.

SnapPhoto for G1

Thank goodness someone has decided to improve the camera on the G1 by creating an application that makes the camera somewhat useful! It is constantly being updated and improving itself so I look forward to seeing the G1's potential. Despite my disappointment in the G1's camera, I'm much more pleased with the way this app produces photos.

Here is an example image:

A recent update has added nightmode! I tried testing it out by taking some naughty pics in the bathroom, but yea...those didn't turn out too well. :P

Now...if only the app can get the G1 to take the damn picture a bit faster...then it might be a little less frustrating.

Biggest Winner!

I just wanted to do a quick post because I am extremely happy about the results of this season's The Biggest Loser on NBC. I feel that Michelle deserved winning the title of "Biggest Loser". Early in the season, Pooh and I were extremely disappointed in the way that other couples were "playing the game" and how our favorite people kept getting voted off. I have never strongly disliked anyone on TV as much as Vicki. (Actually, as I'm typing this Pooh and I are watching the first episode of Momma's Boys and this woman makes Vicki seem like an angel.)

I was rooting for both Michelle and Reney from the beginning. I was really touched by their story and just wanted to see them make it to the very end! I feel they played the game the right way. Despite being underdogs, she brought home a win for the black team. WUHOO! You go gurl!

Overtime...overload & Xmas list!

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting lately. I was thinking that since I have my G1 that I would be able to post more but I guess the G1's camera is lacking the image quality that I want on my blog. Aside from my camera issues, the company I work for is now in holiday overtime hours mode. I'm working 6 days a week until Christmas and I'm working 9.5 hours each day...ugh.

I hope everyone else is enjoying their holiday season so far. Can you believe that The year is almost over?! It definitely flew by!

Anyway, running off on a tangent...I think I know what I want for X-mas! I haven't given Pooh any hints but I guess this will probably make it easier for him :)

#1 on my list is an Acoustic Guitar.
#2 on my list is a bottle of Dolce & Gabbana Cologne (in the dark blue box)...but then again, I might be picking it up myself this week anyway haha.
#3 on my list is Rockband 2 for PS3
#4 on my list is this awesome Ben Sherman Jacket I saw at Macy's a couple weeks ago
#5 would be that jacket from Urban Outfitters I blogged about a while back
#6 would be SHOES!!!

Gift or no gift I'm thankful for what I have. I feel very blessed to be where I am right now and I can honestly say that I am happy.

Just for fun, do you have anything special on your wish list?

X-mas Tree!

Pooh and I put up our little Christmas tree today. It's the same lil guy from last year - compact, humble, and cute.

I hope everyone's enjoying their holiday season so far. This year flew by pretty fast! Pooh and I had so many wonderful moments and I am looking forward to what this new year will bring. I feel very blessed to be able to spend another Christmas with my Poohburr and to have him in my life. We're thinking of ideas on how to celebrate on New Year's eve but can't think of anything. Any suggestions?

Random Photos - Manny's Bday

I was backing up my photos and storing them all in my external hardrive when I ran across some photos from Manny's birthday. I didn't upload them to flock and for some reason didn't blog them either. It was at the time when my BBF (Best Bud Forever) Jeremy came down to visit. I didn't get around to posting many pics of that weekend because we took SOOOO MANY pictures (which btw, I just uploaded them to my flock and it's over 180 pics...wow!).

What better way to celebrate our bud's birthday than by having over a small group of friends, MD 20/20's, and randomly coming across lesbian porn on Showtime.

Cheers!

G1 - Google Phone!

Those of you who follow my blog regularly know that I recently purchased a G1 (Google Phone) for my Pooh for our anniversary. I got to play with his for a while and I really liked it. My K800i was pretty beat up because I accidentally dropped it...a couple times...many....accidentally...so I decided to get one for myself!

I like that the G1 runs on an open source platform. Another nice thing is that most of the downloadable applications are free!

The touch response is actually pretty nice. It's fast, easy to use, and so far I haven't noticed any slowing. I've read somewhere that for a system that doesn't have manual closing for applications, even having opened several applications, there isn't much lag and the responsiveness on the touchscreen is still fast. Even if it did experience any slowing, I wouldn't mind because I'm pretty patient. Most of my Sony Ericssons had major lag issues and yet I still loved them. Anyway, if you don't want to use the touch screen or if you're viewing a webpage with pretty small links/buttons, the G1 comes equipped with a trackball that makes navigation extremely easy.

The battery life on the G1 unfortunately isn't too great, but it's nothing that really bugs me because I keep my phone charged at work and I have a car charger. :)

The QWERTY keyboard is really nice. It's smooth, feels good, not too large, and not too small. I've been wanting a phone with a QWERTY keyboard for a while, especially one that I can use to blog with. You know what that means? It means I'll definitely be making way more random blog posts while I'm on the go! Which brings me to my next point.

My only complaint is the camera. It's a 3.2 megapixel camera that takes nice pictures with good lighting, but when are we ever in good lighting when Pooh and I are out 'n about with our homies at the clubs?! Unfortunately, there is no flash and so images are no good without adequate lighting. This makes me want to shove my sim card back into my k800i Sony Cybershot phone so I can use my Xenon flash! Ah well, I guess I'll have to lug arround my camera in addition to my phone.

Anyway, this random post ended up turning into a review of some kind. I still very much love this phone. Although my favorite color is Black (shade...hue...whatever), I got the white one because I thought it looked nice. I was going to trade with Pooh but he didn't like that the QWERTY keyboard is harder to read on the white version. The white version's keyboard is grey with black letters that when the backlight is on, the letters are white. The symbols and additional characters are in orange. When the backlight is lit and you're using the phone in a well lit room, it's kind of hard to read because there's not too much of a contrast. The orange also doesn't stand out either. This doesn't really bother me because I just memorize where all the characters and symbols are. It bugs the hell out of Pooh though, I think it's because he's blind :P

Mojos at StarBar

Pooh and I went to Starbar with some friends to pound down some drinks Sunday night. I made everyone try a Mojo. It wasn't too big of a hit with everyone since it's a pretty crazy strong drink...but I love it anyway! I was craving it for a while so it was nice to have one, or two. I was telling a friend that I've been craving it for a while and the bartender looked at me, smiled, and said "you must have some issues if you've been craving it." LOL. It's pretty much a hangover in a glass.

We had a lot of fun that night. After Starbar we headed over to Rich's. As we walked towards Rich's we ran into some friends that convinced us to party at Flicks. It was Karaoke night. Of course, I would never Karaoke...but we did play pool. After we played pool we headed over to our place to play Rock Band. We played till 4am!

Jay Brannan at House of Blues Pt. 2

Pooh and I saw Jay Brannan at the House of Blues tonight. It was amazing!

His voice is incredibly beautiful and sexy. He was also very charming and funny.

The performance was held in a very romantic and intimate setting. It was nice to have Pooh holding me close while he sang his songs. For some reason it reminded me of India Arie's music video for "Ready For Love". Jay had everyone's undivided attention. You can tell that his voice had us all mesmerized and smiling ear to ear. We both had great seats...no one was blocking our view. We had a couple drinks. I started off with a Bud Light and Pooh had a vodka tonic. Afterwards, I ordered a Greygoose Martini (clean with one olive) and Pooh got another vodka tonic.

I loved everything he sang! We wanted to take a picture with him but there were too many guys that were trying to talk to him. I hope Pooh and I can get a picture with him the next time we see him perform. He'll be performing in San Francisco next. I definitely recommend seeing him perform if you're in the Bay.

Sony Cyber-shot T700

Sony Gray Cyber-shot® T700 Digital Camera DSC-T700/H

Pooh and I were at Bestbuy today looking for a new home theater system (mainly a receiver and possibly some new speakers...if the price is right) because ours is extremely old and crapped out. The sound keeps cutting in n' out and it's bugging the hell out of us.  I'm pretty good with electronics but despite my astuteness in gadgetry, I was unable to fix it. :(

Anyway, I got sidetracked and started to "browse" in the camera section.  One of the toys that caught my eye was the T700.  I very much enjoyed playing with it.  It's sleek, sexy, lightweight, and captures great quality images.  I didn't get to play with it too long but it's definitely something on my I-don't-really-need-it-but-it'd-be-nice-to-have list.

Unfortunately, there were no receivers that we thought were worth purchasing.  We ended up going to Pei Wei to eat dinner.

Blogworthy - Pei Wei

Pooh and I had dinner at Pei Wei Asian Diner tonight. The makers of PF Chang's created Pei Wei - same great taste and quality, minus the waiters, and twice as fast. It's somewhat of a "fast food" take on PF Chang's menu and definitely cheaper. Pei Wei reminds me of Pick Up Stix but way better. I'd recommend trying it out!

Pooh had their Kung Pao Chicken and I had the Pei Wei Spicy Chicken. We also had to try their Crab Wontons. Delicious!

BTW, the staff at the Mission Valley location had quite a few hotties working :)

Our Story : Chapter 1 - Coming Out

I can remember when Pooh first came out to me. I was shaking, nervous, and anxious. My palms were sweaty and I couldn't look him in the eye. I was surprised and didn't know what to say. How could my straight best friend of 2 years suddenly tell me that he's gay? Deep inside I knew that I felt that way because I had a crush on him all this time but knew that nothing could ever come of it because he was straight. It's a strange feeling to finally come to terms and accept the fact that it could never happen, then suddenly, in an instant, a door opens. A door of opportunity seemed to have magically appeared out of nowhere. The question would seem to be - Do I rush right in before that door suddenly closes? Do I enter with caution? Or do I do nothing?

We were going to Green Tea House when Pooh came out to me. We were in his car and we had just parked when he blurted it out. I told him I didn't believe him and I didn't. I thought he was joking. He even asked me to let him borrow some of my porns so he could prove that he was gay. I had a VHS of "Fortune Nookie" with Brandon Lee that I let him borrow a few days later - when I handed it to him I told him he wasn't going to watch them.

Since I was in shock and couldn't believe him at the moment, I decided to change the subject. We got out of the car to get some Boba. I had an Almond Milk Tea with green boba. Pooh got his favorite Green Apple and Strawberry slush with green boba. In the back of my mind the thought of Pooh being into guys swirled around and confused me. Was he always gay? Since I was his only gay friend, was it me that made him gay? Why did he come out to me? Is he already talking to someone? How would I feel if he hooked up with a guy...and had a boyfriend?

At the time, I had actually given up on guys and was dating a girl. Yes, a female. When Pooh came out to me he didn't say that he was into me or anything. He had just simply decided to tell me that he was into guys. For some reason, I was sad. I had always thought of Pooh as being a great guy and great boyfriend material. I always told him how he'd make a girl really happy to have him. Pooh was going out with a girl when we first met and I was able to observe how sweet he was and how incredibly caring he was with her. As I sipped on my Almond Milk Tea, I started to feel a sadness inside. I guess maybe I started to feel a bit jealous. I started thinking that even though there might of be a chance with us, I was already with someone. And then it occurred to me...he won't be single for long. He'll find a guy and be that lucky guy's incredibly caring, incredibly sweet, and incredibly perfect bf.

It would be quite a while before the "Pooh and Tiggah" actually came to be.

Sad Time

Pooh and I are deeply saddened by the passing of Prop 8. I would of thought that a country that overcame slavery and segregation would have been more tolerable and accepting of homosexuality. It is extremely disappointing that people feel that man should not be able to marry another man because it's disrupting the sanctity of marriage. If they want to "protect marriage" then perhaps they should ban divorce. They should also ban celebrities from drunkenly getting married and divorcing the very next day.

I can rant all I want but it wouldn't change anything and unfortunately it wouldn't solve anything. In time, we'll eventually get our day. Until then we'll just have to love each other and hope that times will change once again. Pooh and I were talking about it and we both feel pretty bummed about the whole thing. We both agree that sure, we aren't planning on getting married right now, but knowing that it's an option and that we'd have just as much a right to it as everyone else...would of been nice.

Why are people so afraid of this?

I love my Pooh and I want to spend the rest of my life with him. I don't need a certificate nor the state to tell me otherwise (although, I still wouldn't mind some bling on my finger); I know in my heart that we're married.

G1 - Google Phone!

Pooh and I have been pretty busy lately so we haven't had time to celebrate our anniversary yet. We're planning on having dinner at the Oceanaire sometime this week. I decided to give Pooh his gift today since we had to reschedule our reservation.

I got Pooh a G1. For those of you that don't already know, Pooh is a phone freak and basically gets a new one every year. He's been raving about the G1 for quite some time so I thought it'd be a great gift. He LOVED IT! I think when I upgrade my phone I might get a G1 for myself. However, I think I'm much too in love with the camera on my K800i to change phones any time soon.

NO ON 8

DSC_0412.jpg by you.

In light of the upcoming election, I thought I'd throw this out there.  Not that Pooh and I are planning on getting married any time soon...but it's nice to know that it's an option.  :)

I don't talk politics on my blog but I think that this is definitely an important issue that all of my readers can relate with. America has gone through a lot of changes in the past and this is just another step into making the world more tolerable and more accepting. Not everyone has to agree with homosexuality but I think everyone should accept one another as equal human beings. We should all be able to love whoever we want to and we should be able to marry the one we love.
